The one ton LIV12HP230V1R32AO and LIV12HP230V1R32AH pairing is the workhorse of the Livo R32 series — the size most often specified for a primary bedroom, a home office, or a single open living area. It produces 12,000 BTU/h of cooling at 95°F and 12,000 BTU/h of heating at 47°F at 19 SEER2 and 8.5 HSPF2, with the inverter compressor sweeping from 3,070 all the way to 14,600 BTU/h in heating. Among the two 12,000 BTU options it holds the low-temperature advantage, delivering up to 9,100 BTU/h at 5°F versus 8,500 on the 115V model. A wireless LCD remote is included and Wi-Fi is standard.

What a One Ton Zone Looks Like

A single ton of capacity typically covers one substantial room or a pair of connected rooms with unrestricted airflow between them. Because mini splits condition the air in the space they occupy rather than distributing through ducts, doorways and partial walls matter enormously — a 12,000 BTU head cannot push conditioned air around a corner and down a hallway with any real effectiveness, regardless of nameplate capacity.

Will one 12,000 BTU head condition two bedrooms?

Only if the rooms are genuinely open to each other. A ductless head throws air in one direction and relies on room circulation, so it cannot condition a second room through a doorway with any consistency. Two bedrooms almost always want two heads — either two single-zone systems or a multi-zone system from our ductless mini split systems range.

Is 19 SEER2 a step down from the 9,000 BTU model's 20.5?

On paper, yes — 19.0 SEER2 versus 20.5 SEER2. In practice the ratings apply to different capacities and are not interchangeable. A correctly sized 12,000 BTU system at 19 SEER2 will almost always outperform an undersized 9,000 BTU system forced to run at full output continuously, because inverter equipment earns its efficiency at part load.

Can this system be used for continuous equipment or server room cooling?

The condenser leaves the factory with enough R-32 for 25 feet of line set. Runs shorter than that need no adjustment. Beyond 25 feet the installer adds 0.2 oz per additional foot up to the 66 foot maximum, so a 50 foot run would take roughly 5 oz of additional charge.

How does intelligent defrost affect winter heating performance?

In heating mode the outdoor coil accumulates frost, which chokes airflow and cuts capacity. Rather than defrosting on a fixed timer, the control logic evaluates conditions before initiating a cycle, which reduces unnecessary defrosts and the comfort interruption that comes with them. Preheating of the compressor also protects it during cold starts.

Does the Wi-Fi feature require a subscription?
