RectorSeal 87045 Pro-Fit 5/8" Quick Connect Service Valve, Push-to-Connect Refrigerant Fitting

The 87045 is the largest service valve RectorSeal builds in the Pro-Fit line, sized for a 5/8" lineset connection. Like the smaller valves it is an equipment-mounted part: a brass body with a copper stub that brazes into the unit's circuit, a two-hole mounting flange, a capped service port, and a capped operating stem. What sets the Pro-Fit version apart is the lineset side, where a 5/8" push-to-connect port replaces the flare an installer would otherwise have to cut on the heaviest tubing in a residential install. Rated to 870 psig and 250°F continuous.

Is a 5/8" Service Valve the Right Part for This Job?

Five-eighths is the top of the Pro-Fit valve range, matching three-ton ductless and light commercial suction connections. The same qualifiers apply as at every other size: the equipment end is a brazed copper stub, so the valve mounts to a machine rather than dropping into a lineset run, and RectorSeal supplies the service valves on an OEM basis rather than as part of the general five-fitting line. To land a 5/8" lineset on an existing flare port without brazing anything, the 87039 socket is the part for that.

The payoff here is the largest of any valve in the range. Hand-flaring 5/8" tubing takes a firm grip on a heavy tube and ends in the widest torque range RectorSeal publishes; the push port replaces all of it with 1-5/16" of insertion and a tug test. Plan the mounting location with the valve's bulk in mind — RectorSeal ships the 5/8" and 1/2" valves in a wider carton than the smaller sizes — and leave clearance to get a wrench on the port caps.

Ideal for: OEM equipment specifying push-to-connect suction connections at 5/8", replacing a failed factory service valve on a three-ton ductless or light commercial condenser, and builds where eliminating the heaviest field flare is the design intent.

One size down? Use the RectorSeal 87044 Pro-Fit 1/2" Quick Connect Service Valve. For field splices in 5/8" tube, use the 87021 union coupling.

Confirm the valve's connection type, mounting pattern, and application against RectorSeal's documentation and the equipment manufacturer's requirements before specifying. Installation must be performed by an EPA 608-certified technician in accordance with RectorSeal's published instructions and applicable mechanical codes. One complete valve per unit with the push-end seal stack factory-assembled and both port caps fitted, cased 5 per box. The 5/8" push port is the largest size covered by the 87048 Pro-Fit Support Kit, which supplies the line-marking gauge and the matching disconnect clip. Brazing gases for the equipment stub are under refrigerants, gases and line flush.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the largest Pro-Fit service valve?

The 87045 at 5/8". Valves are made in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" only — the same four sizes as the sockets, and for the same reason: equipment connections above 5/8" are brazed rather than flared.

How deep does the lineset seat in the 87045?

1-5/16" into the push-to-connect port, matching every other 5/8" Pro-Fit fitting. Mark it with the line-marking tool from the 87048 kit rather than a tape measure.

Does the 87045 mount the same way as the smaller valves?

Yes — a flat brass flange with two mounting holes, cast into the body for bolting to equipment sheet metal. The body itself is larger than the 1/4" and 3/8" valves, so confirm the available footprint before planning the location.

Can the 87045 be used anywhere in a lineset run?

No. The equipment side is a plain copper stub that must be brazed into a refrigerant circuit, and the flange is meant to be fastened to a cabinet. It is an equipment-mounted valve, not an inline fitting.

Is a charging hose connection included with the 87045?

The valve ships with its service / access port capped, but no hoses or adapters are supplied. RectorSeal does not publish the port's thread specification — confirm it with RectorSeal before assuming a standard gauge hose will thread on.

What is the case quantity on the Pro-Fit service valves?

5 per case across all four valve sizes, against 10 for the unions, elbows, reducers and sockets. The valve body takes roughly twice the space of a union, so the same carton holds half as many.
