RectorSeal 87044 Pro-Fit 1/2" Quick Connect Service Valve, Push-to-Connect Refrigerant Fitting
The 87044 handles the suction side. It is the same equipment-mounted Pro-Fit valve architecture as the smaller sizes — brass body, copper stub brazed into the unit's circuit, two-hole mounting flange, capped service port, capped operating stem — scaled to a 1/2" lineset connection. On the suction side the payoff is larger: 1/2" is where hand-flaring gets physically awkward and where a compromised flare vents the most refrigerant. Replacing that connection with a push port at 1-1/4" of insertion removes the step entirely, at 870 psig and 250°F continuous.
Is a 1/2" Service Valve the Right Part for This Job?
The same two qualifiers apply as at the smaller sizes. The equipment end is a copper stub requiring a brazed joint, so this is a part that goes onto a machine rather than into a lineset run, and RectorSeal offers the valves on an OEM basis rather than as part of the general five-fitting line. If you only need to get a 1/2" lineset onto an existing flare port, the 87038 socket does that with no brazing.
The 1/2" body is noticeably larger than the 1/4" and 3/8" valves — RectorSeal ships it in a wider carton, still 5 to a box. Allow for that bulk when planning the mounting location and the clearance around the service port and stem caps. The lineset goes into the push port at 1-1/4" of insertion, with no nut and no torque on that connection; isolate or pump down the system before releasing it later.
