RectorSeal 87027 Pro-Fit 5/8" Quick Connect 90° Elbow, Push-to-Connect Refrigerant Fitting

At 5/8" the suction line stops cooperating with a bender. The tubing is heavy, the minimum radius is wide, and the places these lines have to turn — around a foundation corner, into a lineset cover, up a mechanical room wall — rarely give you that much room. The RectorSeal 87027 makes the turn as a fitting instead: a fixed 90° brass body with a push-to-connect port on each leg, seating 1-5/16" of tube per side with nothing to tighten, holding at 870 psig and 250°F continuous.

Is a 5/8" 90° Elbow the Right Fitting for This Turn?

Five-eighths is the largest diameter still inside the small support kit's range, which makes the 87027 a practical stocking item for crews that service both residential multi-zone and light commercial equipment. It is also the size where the argument for a fitting over a bend becomes the strongest it gets before you reach 3/4" territory: forcing 5/8" copper past its radius collapses the tube and restricts the line, and unlike a liquid line, a restricted suction line shows up in performance immediately.

Both legs seat 1-5/16" — an odd figure that deserves the depth gauge rather than a tape — and neither is tightened, because the fitting has no nuts. What the corner does need is enough clearance to present each tube straight into its port and to see both sight windows. Support the run on both approaches; a 5/8" line carries enough weight that leaving it unsecured puts a constant load on the joint.

Ideal for: Suction line turns at foundation corners and rim joists on 2- and 3-ton systems, routing into and out of lineset covers, vertical rises in mechanical rooms, and replacing a 5/8" corner that was flattened during the original install.
