RectorSeal 87029 Pro-Fit 7/8" Quick Connect 90° Elbow, Push-to-Connect Refrigerant Fitting

The 87029 is the largest elbow RectorSeal builds in the Pro-Fit line — a fixed 90° brass fitting for 7/8" O.D. tubing, the diameter found on VRF trunk lines and large commercial suction runs. Bending 7/8" copper in the field is a machine job, and brazing a 7/8" ell is a long heat soak with a nitrogen purge running the whole time. The 87029 does neither: 1-9/16" of tube seats in each leg, the double O-ring and grip-ring stack does the sealing, and the joint holds at 870 psig and 250°F continuous.

Is a 7/8" 90° Elbow the Right Fitting for This Turn?

At 7/8", a swept bend is rarely an option on site. The tube needs a large radius and a proper bender to make one without collapsing, which is why runs this size are usually built from straight lengths and fittings. The 87029 fills the fitting role without the flame, which matters on the commercial jobs where 7/8" lines live — occupied buildings, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and anywhere a hot work permit and fire watch would otherwise be required.

Both legs need 1-9/16" of insertion, the deepest seat in the Pro-Fit range, so allow close to two inches of clean straight tube on each approach. Nothing is tightened — the elbow has no nuts — so the entire joint depends on a square cut, a clean deburr, and both legs reaching the mark. Support the run on both sides; a 7/8" line has real mass and the elbow should not be the thing carrying it.

Ideal for: VRF trunk and header line direction changes, large commercial split system suction runs, rooftop piping turns, mechanical room routing where flame work is restricted, and emergency repairs on large linesets that cannot tolerate the downtime of a brazed joint.
