RectorSeal 87049 Pro-Fit 3/4" to 7/8" Quick Connect Support Kit, Push-to-Connect Refrigerant Fitting Tools

The 87049 covers the two largest diameters in the Pro-Fit range, and it does so with a different design than the smaller kit. Instead of separate clips and a separate gauge, it holds two combined disconnect and line-marking tools — one for 3/4" and one for 7/8" — each handling both jobs in a single saddle-shaped piece. That is the kit you need for the large unions and elbows on VRF trunk lines and commercial suction runs, where the 1/4"–5/8" kit's tools simply will not fit.

Why the Large-Diameter Kit Is Built Differently

At 3/4" and 7/8" the insertion depths are the deepest RectorSeal specifies — 1-1/2" and 1-9/16" — and the fittings themselves are large enough that a small stepped gauge and a small C-clip do not work. RectorSeal's own packaging wording makes the distinction: the 1/4"–5/8" kit is described as "Line Marking Tool & Disconnect Clips," while this one is "Line Marking & Disconnect Tools." Two tools, each doing both jobs, rather than five pieces doing one job each.

That also means there is no separate plastic depth gauge in this kit, despite what some distributor listings state. Each tool carries the marking function and the release function for its own diameter, and the two are not interchangeable with each other or with the smaller kit's clips.

Ideal for: Contractors stocking 3/4" and 7/8" Pro-Fit unions and elbows, VRF and light commercial crews working large suction and trunk lines, and any job where a large-diameter fitting may need to be released after assembly.

Smaller fittings on the same job? You will also need the RectorSeal 87048 Pro-Fit Support Kit for 1/4" to 5/8" — the two kits cover different size ranges with no overlap.

These are installation tools, not pressure-containing components. Use them in accordance with RectorSeal's published instructions. Any refrigerant work must be performed by an EPA 608-certified technician, and the system must be isolated or pumped down before disconnecting a fitting. Specifications & Manuals

Product documentation includes the full Pro-Fit part number table, the insertion depth chart these tools are built around, and the ICC-ES PMG product rating certificate covering the brass fittings. Note that RectorSeal has introduced a second-generation support kit under separate part numbers; this listing is for part 87049.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pieces come in the 87049 kit?

Two — a 3/4" tool and a 7/8" tool. Each is a combined disconnect and line-marking tool. Some distributor listings describe this kit as containing clips plus a separate depth gauge; that description belongs to the smaller 87048 kit.

Does the 87049 include a plastic depth gauge?

Not as a separate piece. RectorSeal's packaging describes the smaller kit as "Line Marking Tool & Disconnect Clips" and this one as "Line Marking & Disconnect Tools" — the marking function is built into each of the two tools.

Which fittings does the 87049 actually serve?

The 3/4" and 7/8" unions and 90° elbows. Pro-Fit reducers stop at 1/2"–5/8", and sockets and service valves are not made above 5/8", so those four fittings are the complete list.

Can one kit cover a job with both large and small fittings?

No — the two kits cover different ranges with no overlap. A job mixing a 7/8" trunk line with 3/8" branch connections needs both the 87049 and the 87048.

What insertion depths do these tools mark?

1-1/2" for 3/4" tubing and 1-9/16" for 7/8" — the two deepest seats RectorSeal specifies anywhere in the Pro-Fit range.

Are the 87049 tools covered by the ICC-ES certification?

The ICC-ES PMG-1616 certificate and the UL standards behind it cover the brass pressure-containing fittings. RectorSeal's literature marks the support kits "Not UL listed." These are installation tools, not rated components.
