Mueller Streamline 5/8" OD Refrigerant Push Fitting Coupling, American Made, ACP10145
Suction line repairs are where push fittings earn their keep, and the Mueller Streamline ACP10145 is built for exactly that job on 5/8" OD copper. This American-made push x push coupling installs flame-free, seals with two HNBR O-rings rated from -40°F to 300°F, and is backed by Mueller's 10-year limited warranty. With a 700 PSI continuous rating and approval for R-410A, R-454B, R-32, R-448A, and R-449A, it gives residential and light commercial technicians a clean way to cut out a leak or extend a vapor line next to insulation, wiring, and finished surfaces.
Is a 5/8" Push Fitting Coupling the Right Size?
The ACP10145 joins copper that measures 5/8" outside diameter. That size is a frequent suction line on smaller residential split systems and the vapor line on many higher-capacity mini split heads. It is also the actual OD of nominal 1/2" Type K and L copper, which the coupling accepts under ASTM B88.
Suction lines are usually insulated, so strip enough insulation to expose clean tube for the 1-1/8" insertion depth on each side, and check for corrosion or abrasion under the old insulation before you cut. Keep in mind that brazing clearances grow at this size: once the coupling is installed, keep a torch at least 6" away with a wet wrap, or 12" if the fitting is unprotected.
Ideal for: 5/8" suction and vapor line repairs, cut-outs of leaking sections, line set extensions on condenser relocations, and flame-free work near attic insulation or electrical.
Need a larger line size? Step up to the Mueller Streamline 3/4" Push Fitting Coupling, ACP10157 for 3/4" suction lines on larger split systems.
Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD, follow the equipment manufacturer's line sizing, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

The ACP10145 is one forged brass piece with the grip ring and O-rings installed at the factory, so the seal quality does not depend on field assembly. When a repair also calls for a new drier, see our suction line filter driers, and plan any brazed work on the drier before seating the push coupling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the ACP10145 a good choice for a 5/8" suction line repair?
Yes. Its 700 PSI rating, -40°F to 250°F operating range, and approval for air conditioning and heat pump systems make it well suited to cutting out a leaking or damaged section of 5/8" suction line without a torch.
What is different about the 5/8" ACP10145 versus the 1/2" ACP10144?
Both use a 1-1/8" insertion depth. The 5/8" size fits larger suction and vapor lines, and Mueller's brazing clearance increases from 5"/10" on the 1/2" size to 6" wet-wrapped / 12" unprotected on the 5/8" size.
Can I braze near an installed ACP10145?
Mueller recommends avoiding it. If you must, keep the minimum distances above and protect the push joint with a cold wet cloth or heat-barrier spray, gel, or putty. Better yet, complete brazed connections before installing the push fitting.
Does the ACP10145 keep electrical continuity across the joint?
Yes. Streamline push fittings maintain ground continuity without extra bonding straps. However, Mueller states the fittings must not be used as a source of electrical ground.
Can the ACP10145 be used with nitrogen or other technical gases?
Yes. Approved substances include nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, compressed air, and inert gases, plus non-potable water, in addition to the listed refrigerants.
How should 5/8" tubing be prepared before pushing on the coupling?
Cut square with a wheel-type tube cutter (never a saw), deburr the ID and OD, polish with a very fine abrasive pad, inspect for scratches or dents, mark the 1-1/8" insertion depth, then push on with a slight rotation until the fitting reaches the mark.
