Mueller Streamline 3/4" OD Refrigerant Push Fitting Coupling, American Made, ACP10157

Brazing 3/4" copper takes more heat, more gas, and more time than small liquid lines, which is exactly why the Mueller Streamline ACP10157 push coupling is worth keeping on the truck. This made-in-USA fitting joins 3/4" OD copper with a permanent push connection, carries a 10-year limited warranty, and is rated for 700 PSI on R-410A, R-454B, R-32, R-404A, R-407C, and other approved refrigerants. Commercial HVAC service techs, VRF/VRV installers, and contractors running larger residential split systems use it to repair and extend 3/4" suction lines without a torch, a fire watch, or a long cool-down.

Is a 3/4" Push Fitting Coupling the Right Size?

The ACP10157 is sized for copper with a true 3/4" outside diameter. In HVAC/R, that is most often a suction line on larger-capacity residential and light commercial split systems, and a common branch size on VRF/VRV piping. Because the fitting is sized by OD, it also accepts nominal 5/8" Type K or L copper, whose actual outside diameter is 3/4".

The 3/4" coupling needs 1-1/4" of clean, round tube on each side, so budget extra exposed length when stripping insulation. Larger tube also means larger heat-safety margins: after installation, keep soldering at least 2-1/4" away and brazing at least 7" away with a wet wrap or 14" unprotected. Mueller's push flare adapters stop at 5/8", so a 3/4" line landing on a flare or sweat connection still needs a separate transition.

Ideal for: 3/4" suction line repairs on larger split systems, VRF/VRV branch piping, condenser relocations, and commercial service calls where hot work permits or fire watches add time and cost.

Need a larger line size? Step up to the Mueller Streamline 7/8" Push Fitting Coupling, ACP10146, the largest coupling in the Streamline refrigerant push fitting line.

Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD, follow the equipment manufacturer's line sizing, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

Mueller forges the ACP10157 body as a single brass piece and installs the stainless steel grip ring and twin HNBR O-rings at the factory, so a 3/4" joint goes together in about the time it takes to prep the tube. It is part of the push-to-connect copper fittings selection at Budget Heating, alongside matching elbows and adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the ACP10157 fit nominal 5/8" Type L copper tube?

Yes. Nominal 5/8" Type K and L tube has a 3/4" outside diameter, and ASTM B88 Types K and L are approved tube types. Just confirm the tube measures 3/4" OD before installing.

What sets the 3/4" ACP10157 apart from the 5/8" ACP10145?

The ACP10157 fits larger 3/4" lines and needs a deeper 1-1/4" insertion versus 1-1/8". Post-install heat clearances also increase to 2-1/4" for soldering and 7"/14" for brazing.

Is there a matching 3/4" push elbow for this coupling?

Yes. The Mueller Streamline ACP02728 3/4" push 90° elbow uses the same push x push design and ratings, so you can complete offsets and turns on a 3/4" line without brazing.

What temperature range can the ACP10157 handle?

Continuous operating temperature is -40°F to 250°F, and the sealing rings are rated from -40°F to 300°F, covering typical air conditioning and heat pump refrigerant line conditions.

How much space is needed between two push connections on a 3/4" line?

Mueller requires a minimum of 1/4" of tube between adjacent push connections, which allows a coupling and an elbow to sit close together in tight equipment cabinets or chases.

Can the ACP10157 be used on VRF or VRV refrigerant piping?

Yes. VRF/VRV systems are listed as approved applications for Streamline refrigerant push fittings. Follow the system manufacturer's piping and testing requirements along with Mueller's instructions.
