Mueller Streamline 5/8" OD Refrigerant Push Fitting 90° Long Radius Elbow, American Made, ACP02722

The Mueller Streamline ACP02722 puts a flame-free 90° turn on 5/8" OD copper, a common suction and vapor line size on residential split systems and larger mini splits. This long radius push elbow is made in the USA and carries a 10-year limited warranty. Its forged brass body, stainless steel grip rings, and dual HNBR O-rings per end are rated for 700 PSI continuous pressure and -40°F to 250°F operation, with approval for R-410A, R-454B, R-32, R-448A, and R-449A. HVAC service techs and installers use it to reroute insulated suction lines around condensers, through crawlspaces, and up exterior walls without brazing near insulation or siding.

Is a 5/8" Push Fitting 90° Elbow the Right Size?

Choose the ACP02722 for copper that measures 5/8" outside diameter. That covers many residential suction lines, the vapor line on higher-capacity mini split heads, and nominal 1/2" Type K or L copper, which has a 5/8" OD.

Suction lines are insulated, so peel back enough insulation to expose 1-1/8" of clean tube at each end, plus room to work. Look for corrosion or abrasion under the old insulation before you cut. Heat clearances get bigger at this size: after the elbow is installed, keep any brazing at least 6" away with a wet wrap, or 12" if unprotected, and keep soldering at least 1-1/2" away.

Ideal for: 5/8" suction line turns at the condenser and air handler, condenser relocations, crawlspace and exterior wall routing, and flame-free work near insulation, siding, or wiring.

Need a larger line size? Step up to the Mueller Streamline 3/4" Push Fitting 90 Elbow, ACP02728 for 3/4" suction lines on larger split systems.

Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD, follow the equipment manufacturer's line sizing, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ACP02722 suitable for turning a 5/8" suction line?

Yes. It is approved for air conditioning and heat pump systems, rated to 700 PSI, and rated for -40°F to 250°F continuous operation, which suits typical 5/8" suction and vapor line duty.

How does the 5/8" ACP02722 compare with the 1/2" ACP02717 elbow?

Both need 1-1/8" of insertion at each end. The 5/8" elbow fits larger suction lines, and its post-install brazing clearance increases to 6" wet-wrapped / 12" unprotected, versus 5"/10" on the 1/2" size.

How much insulation should be removed before installing the ACP02722?

Strip enough to expose at least 1-1/8" of clean, undamaged copper on each tube for insertion, plus room to mark, inspect, and seat the fitting. Re-insulate the elbow and line after pressure testing.

Is the ACP02722 compatible with POE and PVE compressor oils?

Yes. Approved oils are mineral oil, POE, PVE, PAO, PAG, and AB, which cover the lubricants used in R-410A and A2L systems.

Does the ACP02722 need a grounding strap across the joint?

No. Streamline push fittings maintain ground continuity without additional straps. Mueller notes the fittings must not be used as the source of an electrical ground.

Can the ACP02722 be used on nitrogen or compressed air lines?

Yes. Approved technical gases include nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, compressed air, and inert gases. Non-potable water is also an approved application.
