Mueller Streamline 7/8" OD Refrigerant Push Fitting Coupling, American Made, ACP10146

The Mueller Streamline ACP10146 is the largest coupling in Mueller's refrigerant brass push fitting line, bringing flame-free joining to 7/8" OD copper — the size where brazing takes the most heat and the most time. It is proudly made in the USA, protected by a 10-year limited warranty, and built with a forged brass body, a stainless steel BackBite™ grip ring, and dual HNBR O-rings rated for 700 PSI continuous duty. Commercial refrigeration and HVAC contractors, light commercial rooftop and split system service techs, and facility maintenance teams use it to repair and extend large suction lines on R-410A, R-454B, R-448A, R-449A, and other approved refrigerants.

Is a 7/8" Push Fitting Coupling the Right Size?

The ACP10146 fits copper tube with a 7/8" outside diameter, a common suction line size on larger residential split systems and light commercial equipment. It also matches nominal 3/4" Type K and L copper, which measures 7/8" OD. If your line is any larger, it falls outside the Streamline push fitting range, which tops out at 7/8".

Plan for the deepest insertion in the series — 1-5/16" on each side — and the largest heat clearances. After the coupling is installed, keep soldering at least 3" away and brazing at least 8" away with a wet wrap or 16" unprotected. Heavy 7/8" tube is also harder to keep round, so inspect the cut end closely and make sure the coupling is pushed fully to the stop before pressure testing.

Ideal for: 7/8" suction line repairs and extensions on larger split systems and light commercial equipment, plus occupied buildings where hot work on large copper is slow or restricted.

Working on a smaller line? Step down to the Mueller Streamline 3/4" Push Fitting Coupling, ACP10157 for 3/4" suction lines and VRF branch piping.

Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD, follow the equipment manufacturer's line sizing, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

Origin & Warranty Made in the USA — 10-Year Limited Warranty

Like every Streamline push fitting, the ACP10146 ships as a finished assembly with its grip ring and both O-rings factory installed. At 7/8", that removes the biggest time sink of a brazed suction repair — heating heavy copper and waiting for it to cool — while keeping a 700 PSI rated joint. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ACP10146 the largest Streamline push coupling available?

Yes. Mueller offers Streamline refrigerant brass push fittings from 1/4" through 7/8" OD, making the ACP10146 the largest coupling in the line. Lines larger than 7/8" require brazed or press connections.

How does the 7/8" ACP10146 differ from the 3/4" ACP10157?

The ACP10146 fits 7/8" OD tube with a 1-5/16" insertion depth, compared with 1-1/4" on the 3/4" size. Heat clearances are also larger: 3" for soldering and 8"/16" for brazing.

What should I do if an ACP10146 joint leaks during pressure testing?

Mueller instructs that a leaking fitting be cut out and replaced — brazing the end of a leaking push fitting is not allowed. Inspect the tube for a longitudinal scratch or other defect before installing a new fitting, then retest.

What is the burst pressure of the ACP10146?

Burst pressure is greater than three times the maximum operating pressure — over 2100 PSI / 144 BAR — against a continuous operating rating of 700 PSI.

Which A2L refrigerants is this 7/8" coupling approved for?

Mueller's approved list includes A2L refrigerants R-454B, R-32, R-454A, R-454C, R-452B, R-1234yf, and R-1234ze, along with HFCs and HFO blends such as R-410A, R-448A, and R-449A.

What seal and grip materials are used inside the ACP10146?

Each side uses a stainless steel grip ring and two factory-installed HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile) O-rings inside a forged brass body. The seals are rated from -40°F to 300°F.
