Mueller Streamline 7/8" OD Refrigerant Push Fitting 90° Long Radius Elbow, American Made, ACP02734

At 7/8", a brazed elbow means heavy copper, long heat-up times, and a slow cool-down before you can test. The Mueller Streamline ACP02734 is the largest elbow in Mueller's refrigerant brass push fitting line, and it turns 7/8" OD copper 90° with two hand-seated push joints. It is proudly made in the USA, backed by a 10-year limited warranty, and rated for 700 PSI continuous duty with burst pressure above 2100 PSI. Commercial HVAC/R contractors, light commercial service techs, and facility maintenance teams use it on large suction lines running R-410A, R-454B, R-448A, R-449A, and other approved refrigerants.

Is a 7/8" Push Fitting 90° Elbow the Right Size?

The ACP02734 fits copper with a 7/8" outside diameter, a common suction line on larger residential split systems and light commercial equipment, and the actual OD of nominal 3/4" Type K and L copper. Streamline refrigerant push fittings top out at 7/8", so larger lines need a different joining method.

This size has the deepest insertion in the series at 1-5/16" per end and the largest heat clearances: at least 3" for soldering and 8" for brazing with a wet wrap, or 16" unprotected. Large-diameter tube can go out of round during cutting, so advance the wheel cutter slowly, inspect each end closely, and confirm both tubes are pushed fully to the stops before pressure testing.

Ideal for: 7/8" suction line turns on larger split systems and light commercial equipment, plus occupied buildings where hot work on large copper is slow, restricted, or requires a permit.

Working on a smaller line? Step down to the Mueller Streamline 3/4" Push Fitting 90 Elbow, ACP02728 for 3/4" suction lines and VRF branch piping.

Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD, follow the equipment manufacturer's line sizing, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ACP02734 the largest Streamline push elbow Mueller makes?

Yes. Streamline refrigerant brass push fittings are offered from 1/4" through 7/8" OD, so the ACP02734 is the largest 90° elbow in the line.

What is different about the 7/8" ACP02734 versus the 3/4" ACP02728 elbow?

The ACP02734 fits 7/8" OD tube and needs a 1-5/16" insertion at each end, compared with 1-1/4" on the 3/4" elbow. Heat clearances also increase to 3" for soldering and 8"/16" for brazing.

What is the fix if an ACP02734 joint fails a pressure test?

Cut the elbow out and replace it. Mueller does not allow brazing the end of a leaking push fitting. Inspect the tube for scratches or defects before installing a new elbow, then retest.

How much pressure can the ACP02734 withstand before bursting?

Burst pressure is more than three times the maximum operating pressure: over 2100 PSI / 144 BAR, against a 700 PSI continuous rating.

Which refrigerants should not be used with the ACP02734?

Mueller states Streamline refrigerant push fittings are not approved for R-22. Check the data sheet for the full list of approved refrigerants before installing on any system.

What creates the seal inside the ACP02734?

Each end has two factory-installed HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile) O-rings that seal against the tube, and a stainless steel BackBite™ grip ring behind them that holds the tube in place.
