The largest Goodman M-series package units need a bigger transition, and the PCH-9 / SQRPGH103 set provides it. The 3.5, 4 and 5 ton GPGM3 gas/electric, GPUM3 and GPHM3 heat pump models use a large chassis with 16" wide × 18" tall supply and return openings. These adapters convert both openings to round flex connections for horizontal installs. The Crown PCH-9 is 26-gauge galvanized steel lined with 1" insulation. It is built for contractors and property owners installing high-capacity gas packs and heat pumps on larger homes and light commercial buildings.
Is the PCH-9 / SQRPGH103 the Right Adapter for Your Unit?
The PCH-9 fits the 16" × 18" openings on Goodman's large M-series cabinet, which is 40" tall versus 32" on the medium chassis. That covers units such as the 3.5 ton Goodman GPGM3 60K BTU gas package unit and the 5 ton Goodman GPHM36031 two-stage heat pump package unit. On the R-410A GPGM5 and GPHM5 M-series units, the large chassis starts at 3 tons, so the 3–4 ton sizes in those series also use this adapter.
Use the chart below to check your unit. Find the first part of your model number on the unit's rating plate. On gas models, *** stands for the three-digit heating input (for example, 060 or 080). The ** at the end stands for revision codes. Neither changes the fit. If your model isn't listed, measure the supply or return opening on the side of the unit. 16" × 18" means PCH-9, and 16" × 16" means PCH-8.

At these capacities, return airflow and duct sizing matter more. The Crown PCH-9 steps each 16" × 18" opening down to a 13⅞" round collar. Your duct design may call for larger flex on a 4 or 5 ton system, so we can supply increaser collars. Also confirm the unit is set up for horizontal (side) airflow before ordering, because downflow roof-curb installs use a separate accessory.

Which GPGM3 and GPHM3 sizes need the PCH-9 / SQRPGH103?
The 3.5, 4 and 5 ton GPGM3, GPHM3 and GPUM3 units (R-32 and R-410A) use Goodman's large chassis with 16" × 18" openings, so they take the PCH-9. The 2–3 ton medium-chassis units use the PCH-8. See the fit chart above for full model numbers.
How can I tell if my M-series unit is a large chassis?
Measure the supply or return opening. A 16" × 18" opening means large chassis (PCH-9), and 16" × 16" means medium (PCH-8). On Goodman's GPGM3 and GPHM3 spec sheets, the large cabinet is also about 40" tall, compared with 32" for the medium.
Does the PCH-9 fit a 5 ton GPGM5?
No. The 5 ton R-410A GPGM560 uses Goodman's extra-large chassis, which the PCH-9 is not listed for. The PCH-9 fits the 3, 3.5 and 4 ton R-410A GPGM5 and GPHM5. Call us with your full model number for other units.
Can I run 16 or 18 inch flex duct from these adapters?
Yes, with the right collar. The Crown PCH-9 has 13⅞" collars for 14" flex. For larger duct, ask for a 14" to 16" or 14" to 18" metal increaser. You can also note your flex size so we can match the McDaniel SQRPGH103 collar to it.
