Goodman Square to Round Adapters for M-Series Multi-Position Package Units, 2–3 Ton, PCH-8 / SQRPGH101-102
The PCH-8 / SQRPGH101-102 adapter set is for Goodman M-series multi-position package units installed for horizontal airflow. On the medium-chassis GPGM3 gas/electric, GPUM3 and GPHM3 heat pump (2, 2.5 and 3 tons), the supply and return are both 16" × 16" square. This set turns both openings into round flex-duct connections. The Crown PCH-8 is 26-gauge galvanized steel with a 1" insulated lining. It suits installers converting an M-series unit from downflow to side discharge, or tying a new gas pack into round flex.
Is the PCH-8 / SQRPGH101-102 the Right Adapter for Your Unit?
M-series units have square side openings, unlike the Goodman horizontal-only GPHH3 and GPCH3 cabinets. The PCH-8 matches the 16" × 16" supply and return used on medium-chassis units, including the 2 ton Goodman GPGM3 40K BTU gas package unit and the 3 ton Goodman GPHM33631 multi-position heat pump package unit. Both adapters are the same size, so the supply and return sides are interchangeable during installation.
Use the chart below to check your unit. Find the first part of your model number on the unit's rating plate. On gas models, *** stands for the three-digit heating input (for example, 040 or 060). The ** at the end stands for revision codes. Neither changes the fit. Watch the R-410A GPGM5 and GPHM5: they switch to the large chassis at 3 tons, not 3.5. If your model isn't listed, measure the supply or return opening on the side of the unit. 16" × 16" means PCH-8, and 16" × 18" means PCH-9.

The M-series can be set up for downflow or horizontal airflow, so first confirm the unit will discharge from the side. Downflow roof-curb installs use a separate downflow square-to-round accessory, not this set.

The kit contains two identical 16" square-to-round adapters, one for supply and one for return, sized for the medium M-series cabinet. The Crown PCH-8 steps the opening down to a 13⅞" collar for 14" flex. The McDaniel SQRPGH101/102 may use a larger round collar, so tell us your flex size. Metal reducers and increasers are available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the PCH-8 fit Goodman GPGM3 gas package units?
Yes. It fits the 2, 2.5 and 3 ton medium-chassis GPGM3 gas/electric package units (R-32 and R-410A), which have 16" × 16" supply and return openings in the horizontal position. It also fits the GPHM3 heat pump and GPUM3 in the same sizes. See the fit chart above for full model numbers.
What does the "M" in GPGM3 and GPHM3 mean for adapter selection?
M-series units are multi-position, so they can be set up for downflow or horizontal airflow. The PCH-8 is for the horizontal setup. Its square 16" openings are a different shape from the horizontal-only GPHH3 and GPCH3 cabinets, which use the PCH-2 or PCH-3.
Are the supply and return adapters in the PCH-8 kit the same size?
Yes. On medium-chassis M-series units, both openings are 16" × 16", so the Crown PCH-8 supply and return adapters share the same 16⅛" flange and 13⅞" collar.
Will the PCH-8 work on a 3 ton GPGM5 or GPHM5?
No. On the R-410A GPGM5 and GPHM5, Goodman moves to a large chassis with 16" × 18" openings at 3 tons, which calls for the PCH-9. The PCH-8 fits only the 2 and 2.5 ton units in those series.
Can I use these adapters with 16 inch flex duct?
Crown PCH-8 collars fit 14" flex. For 16" flex, ask for a 16" to 14" metal reducer when ordering, or note your flex size so we can match the McDaniel SQRPGH101-102 collar to it.
Is the PCH-8 used for rooftop downflow installations?
No. For downflow on a roof curb, Goodman lists separate downflow square-to-round accessories. The PCH-8 / SQRPGH101-102 is for the horizontal (side) discharge position only.
