This is the largest system in Rheem's Endeavor® Line Classic Plus® Series iM RA16AY lineup. The RA16AY60AJ2NA two-stage condenser pairs with the RH2TY6024STANNJ two-stage-airflow air handler, AHRI certified at 17 SEER2 (#217269584). It includes a factory crankcase heater and factory high and low pressure controls. Low-stage operation keeps a 5 ton system from overcooling and short-cycling on mild days. It uses low-GWP R-454B with Rheem's PlusOne® Refrigerant Detection System™. It's cooling only, with Rheem electric heat strips up to 20 kW offered.
Is a 5 Ton Air Conditioning System the Right Size?
A 5 ton system provides 60,000 BTU/h of nominal cooling at high stage, the top of the residential split-system range. It's often used in homes around 2,500–3,000+ sq. ft. as a loose guide, and in some light commercial spaces.
