Mueller Streamline 1/2" OD Refrigerant Push x SAE Flare Adapter, American Made, ACP15727
The Mueller Streamline ACP15727 turns a plain 1/2" OD copper line into a ready-to-tighten flare connection for ductless and VRF/VRV equipment. The push end locks on with a stainless steel BackBite™ grip ring and seals with dual HNBR O-rings, while the flare end uses a nut made to SAE standards and JIS B 8607. It is made in the USA, covered by a 10-year limited warranty, UL 207 Listed, and certified to the IMC, IRC, and UMC under ICC-ES PMG-1625. Mini split installers, VRF contractors, and multifamily service teams use it to make code-recognized 1/2" flare connections without a flaring tool or torch.
Is a 1/2" Push Fitting Flare Adapter the Right Size?
The ACP15727 accepts 1/2" OD copper on the push end and mates with a 1/2" flare connection. On ductless systems, 1/2" is a common vapor (suction) line size on mid-capacity mini split heads and outdoor units, and Mueller notes its flare adapters are suitable for mini split and VRV/VRF equipment.
The push end needs 1-1/8" of clean, round, deburred tube. Soft copper from a pre-insulated line set should be rerounded and inspected for clamp or bend marks before seating. On the flare end, oil the flare face lightly and tighten to Mueller's 1/2" range of 35–44 ft-lbs (49–61 N-m), without overtightening.
Ideal for: 1/2" mini split vapor line connections, VRF/VRV branch hookups at flare ports, line set extensions, and inspected multifamily or commercial work where listed, flame-free connections are preferred.
Need a larger line size? Step up to the Mueller Streamline 5/8" Push Fitting Flare Adapter, ACP15728 for 5/8" flare connections.
Line size suggestions are general guidelines only. Always confirm actual tube OD and flare port size, follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions, and install per Mueller Streamline instructions and local codes. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does a 1/2" flare adapter usually go on a ductless system?
The ACP15727 is typically used on the vapor (suction) line, either at the outdoor unit's service valve or at the indoor head's connection, on mini splits with 1/2" vapor line connections.
What is different about the 1/2" ACP15727 versus the 3/8" ACP15726?
The ACP15727 needs a deeper 1-1/8" push-end insertion (versus 1") and a higher flare torque of 35–44 ft-lbs (versus 25–30 ft-lbs).
Can the ACP15727 be used on VRF or VRV equipment?
Yes. Mueller states its push flare adapters are suitable for connecting to mini split and VRV/VRF equipment, and VRF/VRV is an approved application for Streamline push fittings.
Does the ACP15727 carry UL and code listings for inspections?
Yes. It is UL 207 Listed (SA45895) and certified to the IMC, IRC, and UMC through ICC-ES PMG-1625. The submittal can be provided to inspectors or engineers.
How do I leak test a connection made with the ACP15727?
Pressurize with dry nitrogen to at least 50% of the system's maximum operating pressure, up to 700 PSI, and check both the push end and the flare nut with soap solution or a tracer gas and electronic detector. Nitrogen supplies are under brazing gases and line flush.
Can I pull a deep vacuum through the ACP15727 before charging?
Yes. Streamline push fittings are rated for vacuum down to 200 microns, so the system can be evacuated normally with the adapter installed.
