The Honeywell Home FocusPRO N100 TH1320U4002 is the multi-stage model in the N100 line. It controls up to 3 heat / 2 cool heat pump systems and up to 2 heat / 2 cool conventional systems from one simple non-programmable thermostat. It is made for contractors and homeowners who want staging support, an outdoor sensor option, and emergency heat control without a programming schedule or Wi-Fi setup. Two up/down buttons, a large backlit display, and filter change reminders keep everyday use simple. Behind the faceplate, the installer setup menu covers two-stage heat pumps, backup heat, and auto changeover. It runs on 24V power or 2 AA batteries and mounts on Honeywell's UWP wall plate.
Is the FocusPRO N100 TH1320U4002 the Right Thermostat for Your System?
Choose the TH1320U4002 when your equipment has more than one stage. It is the only N100 model that supports two compressor stages. It handles a two-stage heat pump with one stage of auxiliary or emergency heat, as well as a two-stage furnace paired with a two-stage air conditioner. Single-stage systems can use it too, but the simpler N100 models cost less for basic one-stage setups.
Before you buy, count the control wires at your current thermostat and confirm what each one does. Heat pumps also need the reversing valve set correctly as O or B. A heat pump installation leaves the W terminal on the UWP wall plate empty. Backup heat is wired to the auxiliary and emergency heat terminals and set up in the installer menu. If you want scheduled setbacks or remote access, a programmable or Wi-Fi model is the better fit.

Can this non-programmable thermostat lock out the compressor in cold weather?
Yes, with a wired outdoor sensor installed. The installer setup includes a compressor lockout and a backup heat lockout, each adjustable across outdoor temperatures from -15°F to 65°F. The two settings have slightly different available ranges.
Why does my FocusPRO N100 display "Waiting For Equipment"?
That message means the built-in compressor protection is active. It makes the compressor wait a few minutes after shutting off before it restarts. Honeywell says to allow about 5 minutes for the system to restart safely.
