The Gree ETAC315HP230VACP is the largest heat pump in the ETAC III lineup. It's built for suites, corner rooms, larger apartments, classrooms and offices that a standard hotel-room PTAC can't keep up with. It delivers 14,600 BTU/h of cooling and 13,800 BTU/h of heat pump heating at 230V using R32 refrigerant. For colder mornings, you can add up to 5.0 kW of backup electric heat. Property owners and contractors choose this size when a room has more glass, more people or more square footage than a typical guest room.
Is a 15,000 BTU PTAC the Right Size?
Gree lists an application area of 25 to 37 square yards for the ETAC315HP230VACP, or roughly 225 to 333 square feet. That makes it a fit for junior suites, extended-stay rooms with kitchenettes, large bedrooms, break rooms and small meeting spaces. Because this size moves up to 341 CFM, air reaches the far side of a deep room instead of pooling near the unit.
Bigger is not automatically better. Installing a 15,000 BTU unit in a small room can cause short cycling, uneven temperatures and poor humidity control. Choose this size when the room's square footage, sun exposure, occupancy or cooking load actually calls for it. It also suits rooms in climates where the heating season needs the full 5.0 kW heater.

This chassis ships without a power cord, and the cord you choose sets the backup heat output. The Gree 30 amp power cord unlocks the full 5.0 kW heater (about 17,075 BTU/h) on a 28 amp minimum circuit. The 20 amp and 15 amp cords provide 3.45 kW and 2.45 kW when the existing circuit is smaller. Complete a new installation with the Gree insulated PTAC wall sleeve, the Gree exterior stamped aluminum grille and the Gree ETAC condensate drain kit.
