This Rheem Endeavor® Line Classic Plus® Series iM system brings two-stage comfort to smaller homes. The RA16AY24AJ2NA condenser runs most of the time on its low stage, then ramps to high stage on the hottest days. The RH2TY2417STANNJ air handler's two-stage airflow follows along. The match is AHRI certified at 16 SEER2 (#217168510). The result is longer, quieter cycles, steadier temperatures and better humidity control than a single-stage system. It uses low-GWP R-454B with Rheem's PlusOne® Refrigerant Detection System™. It's cooling only, with optional Rheem electric heat strips.
Is a 2 Ton Air Conditioning System the Right Size?
A 2 ton system delivers 24,000 BTU/h of nominal cooling at high stage. It's common in 2-bedroom homes, larger condos and starter homes around 900–1,200 sq. ft. as a general reference. On mild days, the low stage covers the load at reduced capacity.
