The 40,000 BTU furnace delivers 39,000 BTU of heat at 95% AFUE in downflow and up to 96% AFUE upflow or horizontal. That suits condos, apartments, small ranch homes, additions, and tight hall closets where a standard 17-1/2 in. furnace will not fit.
