The A2L Accessory/Zoning Control is intended for R-32 refrigerant HVAC systems with electronic accessories like zoning controls, air cleaners, UV lamps, humidifiers, or dehumidifiers. It's not necessary if no such accessories are used. These systems require a refrigerant detection system for leak detection. If a leak occurs in the indoor unit, the detection system will shut down all HVAC functions and keep the indoor blower running to disperse R-32 gas. The A2L Accessory/Zoning Control works with this system to ensure all zone dampers remain open and installed accessories are powered down during a leak alarm. Once the leak is resolved, it will restore power to the accessories and close the dampers.
