A 3.5kW electric strip backs it up, and Automatic Emergency Heat switches to resistance heat if the heat pump can't keep up or the compressor fails. A 7-button control panel is built into the unit, so it runs without a wall thermostat, and an LCDI power cord is included. Optional wired thermostats are available in the drop-down.
