2 Ton Goodman 14.5 SEER2 R32 A/C System GLXS4BA2410, AMST24BU1300
This Goodman central air split system delivers 24,000 BTU/h from the GLXS4BA2410 outdoor condenser. It's matched with the AMST24BU1300 multi-position air handler under AHRI certificate #215214929. The 2 ton size fits starter homes, larger condos, manufactured-home replacements and rental units. It's a good choice for property owners and installers who want an R-32 system that keeps small-home install costs down. The air handler has an internal TXV and a multi-speed ECM blower, and the condenser comes with a factory-installed filter drier and service valves ready to braze.
Is a 2 Ton Air Conditioning System the Right Size?
At 24,000 BTU/h, a 2 ton system handles a moderate cooling load. As a general reference point, that's often a home of about 900–1,200 sq. ft. Two homes with the same floor plan can need different tonnage, though. Orientation, shade and construction quality all change the heat gain.
Before choosing 2 tons, look at ceiling insulation levels, the number and size of west-facing windows, how tight the home is, and whether the ductwork is sealed and sized right. A system that's too big clears the thermostat quickly but pulls out less moisture. A Manual J load calculation takes the guesswork out, and it matters most when moving from an older R-22 or R-410A unit that may have been oversized.
Ideal for: Starter homes, 2-bedroom houses, larger condos, rental properties, garage apartments and single-zone additions with average insulation.
Need more capacity? Step up to the 2.5 Ton Goodman R32 A/C System GLXS4BA3010, AMST30BU1300 for homes with open floor plans, vaulted ceilings or more sun exposure.
Recommended home sizes are general guidelines only. Actual system requirements depend on insulation, climate, windows, ductwork, occupancy and a proper load calculation. Request free sizing assistance, contact Budget Heating, or call 813-885-7999.

The GLXS4BA2410 has the same compact 26" x 26" x 27" footprint as the 1.5 ton, so it drops into tight side yards and small pads with little rework. It runs on 3/8" liquid and 3/4" suction lines, and a matching copper line set and fittings finish the refrigerant side of the install. The AMST24BU1300's nine ECM speed taps let your technician dial in airflow for 2 ton operation on existing ducts. The 2 ton GLXS4BA2410 condenser is also sold on its own for outdoor-only replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 2 tons enough to cool my home?
For many homes with a moderate load, such as starter homes, larger condos and rentals, 2 tons is a good fit. Homes with lots of glass, high ceilings or poor insulation may need 2.5 tons, so a load calculation is the safest way to decide.
Why do the 1.5 ton and 2 ton systems share the same air handler?
The AMST24BU1300 covers both capacities. Its multi-speed ECM blower is set to the right airflow tap for the condenser it's paired with. The difference between the two systems is the outdoor unit: the GLXS4BA2410 delivers 24,000 BTU/h versus 18,000 for the 1.5 ton.
Why does this 2 ton system use R-32 instead of R-410A?
Goodman designed the GLXS4B condensers and AMST air handlers specifically for R-32, a lower-GWP refrigerant. Both components are UL 60335-2-40 compliant, and the air handler has a factory-installed R-32 sensor.
What line set sizes does the GLXS4BA2410 need?
Goodman specifies a 3/8" liquid line and a 3/4" suction line for a standard 25 ft. line set. For longer runs, follow the installation instructions and Goodman's long line set guidance.
How loud is the GLXS4BA2410 condenser?
Goodman rates the GLXS4BA2410 at 74 dBA. The compressor has a high-density foam treatment, and the cabinet uses a venturi fan design.
Do I need to register the system for the 10-year parts warranty?
Yes, in most states. Online registration must be completed within 60 days of installation. It isn't required in California or Québec, and coverage in Texas and Florida differs in some cases.
"SEER2" stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2. Specifically, SEER2 is the total heat removed from the conditioned space during the annual cooling season. The M1 testing procedure will increase systems' external static pressure by a factor of five to better reflect field conditions of install equipment. With this change, new nomenclature will be used to denote M1 ratings (including EER2 and HSPF2).
