RectorSeal Cool Braze Formerly Hot Block Reusable Heat Absorption Putty 8 oz

Make HVAC/R brazing, welding and pipe-fit work safer, faster and more cost-effective. This innovative putty protects nearby components, plastic parts, valves and piping from heat, sparks and distortion, so you spend less time repairing heat damage and more time getting jobs done right!

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Blocks heat conduction and sparks from nearby soldering, brazing or welding operations — rated to stop heat transfer up to 3,000 °F (1,649 °C).
  • Reusable formulation: simply spritz with water, store back in the jar and get consistent performance job after job.
  • Non-toxic, non-flammable, odor-free—safe for use in tight mechanical rooms and on job sites.
  • Effective on a variety of surfaces and metals including composite panels, rubber, plastics, copper, aluminum, steel and thin-metal parts.
  • Ideal for protecting reversing valves, ball valves, TXVs, fittings, flanges, and adjacent drywall or wood from heat damage or ignition.
  • Can also be used to hold, align or jig parts during brazing or welding—adds versatility to your job kit.

When servicing HVAC/R systems, especially during transitions in refrigerants (for example when working on R-410A or R-454B or R-32 systems), every minute counts and every component counts. Using a reliable heat-absorption putty like Cool Braze means less rework, fewer damaged valves or fittings, fewer delays. Our team at Budget Heating & Air Conditioning recommends this as a must-have accessory for any pro technician’s tool bag—delivering professional-level protection at a price that supports our “Wholesale Pricing to the Public” commitment.

How to use:

  1. Clean the surface where heat-sensitive components or adjacent surfaces exist.

  2. Press/shape the Cool Braze putty to cover/protect the parts (valves, joints, adjacent piping, panels).

  3. Perform your brazing or welding operation as usual (MAPP gas, oxygen-acetylene, MIG, TIG, arc, propane – all are supported)

  4. After use, allow to cool, optionally spritz water to rejuvenate, replace in the jar for reuse.

  5. Inspect wear; replace when no longer effective.
