Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Amcraft Red and Blue tools?

The Red tool makes a 90° V or miter cut and handles Cuts #1, #2, and #3 in the V-groove method. The Blue tool fabricates four different end cut-offs with a simple change of blades and completes the final #4 cut.

What board thicknesses do these tools cover?

Both tools are offered in multiple sizes to match common duct board thicknesses: 1", 1-1/2", 2", so you can match the tool to your board.

Do I need both tools to make a V-groove?

Yes. The V-groove method uses the Red tool for the first three cuts and the Blue tool for the fourth, so both are required to complete the groove.
